How To Get A Free Personal Travel Assistant

With today's myriad of travel sites, even the most experienced traveler has their hands full managing all the details of a typical trip.

Booking airline tickets, hotels, rental cars and restaurants leaves you with lots of separate pieces of paper. Throw in maps, directions, things to do, and weather and the chaos multiplies.

Enter TripIt -- a FREE, personal travel assistant that automatically organizes all your travel plans.

TripIt turns chaos into order by making it easy for anyone to:
  • Organize trip details into one master online itinerary -- even if arrangements are booked at multiple travel sites
  • Automatically include maps, directions and weather in their master itinerary
  • Have the option to book restaurants, theatre tickets, activities and more right from within the online itinerary
  • Safely access travel plans online, share them, check-in for flights, or print an itinerary

How it Works:

The easiest way to get started with TripIt is to simply forward all your travel confirmation emails to: plans@tripit.com

Once they receive your bookings, TripIt will email you a link to view your itinerary and your new TripIt account. Using TripIt is free and your travel plans are kept secure and confidential.

What happens to my travel booking?

This is when the cool stuff starts -- the TripIt "Itinerator" takes over and automatically combines your related travel bookings into a single master itinerary. Then the Itinerator searches the Web to add related information, including daily weather, local maps, driving directions, city guides and more.

You'll get an email from TripIt once your new itinerary is ready.

What can I do with my TripIt itinerary?

You can simply print your itinerary and head out the door with all your travel plans and confirmation numbers in one place. Or you can customize your itinerary with additional maps and directions, meetings and activities, or even other Web pages that you'll need on your trip.

You can also access all your travel plans while on the road from your mobile device or automatically sync your detailed itineraries to your personal calendar.

It's easy to create a network of TripIt Connections so you can view each other's travel calendars and get alerted when your travel plans overlap with each other. It's also easy to share complete itineraries with friends or family who need to know your travel plans, or collaborate with fellow travelers on a trip.
